Essentials: Knitting bag
So every knitter... and crocheter has a bag of favourite accessories, gadgets and gizmos! It's great when you finally find the perfect needles, hooks and yarns but if you haven't yet or would just like to try something new, here are my top knitting bag essentials!
I can't remember what I did before I had this set! I was lucky enough to be given this as a gift by a good friend. The needles range from 3.5mm to 10mm with 3 different length wires. I use circular needles even when knitting straight, it's easier on the hands, elbows and shoulders! Especially if you like to knit for long period of time or on the train.
I love my stork embroidery sissors, they are lovely and sharp. Great for making pompoms and a great sizes for any knitting bag!
I love this set... and not just because it's full of the best coloured crochet hooks! but because they are so comfy to work with! The added bonus is that they come in a pretty pink case too!
I always keep paper and pen in my knit bag. It's great for keeping track of where you are in your project, hints and tips, oh and also for jotting down new ideas or colourway I'd like to try next. Paperchase have a great selection of handy notebooks with front folder covers!
Tape measures are great for measuring yourself or a large piece of fabric but I think a ruler is great for measuring an accurate tension!
6. A fun pincushion...
... full of pins and different sizes sewing needles. I like to keep a large eyes blunt sewing needle to sew my garment together but also a standard thin needle which I can use for sewing on buttons. Don't forget a good selection of pins, short and long! I bought my little house from Cath Kidston whilst as university years ago! They have a really fun little crochet snail at the moment!
